The Plaque itself is made out of solid Red Oak Hardwood. The lettering is a font called "Royal Signage",  where the Capital letters have a very high degree of curves and character, leaving the rest of the lettering very sharp in upper case as shown in the images.  Together The plaque and the carved text really make a beautiful statement that is also very easy to read.

This sign has the lettering painted black with super crisp edging and black border. We do have another listing that is unfinished so you can DIY paint the letters yourself, saving a little money and adding that personal touch to something so personal to any home. So look for the other listing if you are interested in that option.

*Oak Wood will naturally darken and gray in the weather, if your sign is kept out of constant wet conditions with a clear coat it will last forever, If it is direct sunlight, it should also be ok, but if it gets wet repeatedly then you will need to make sure to refinish it at least 1 time a year depending on how constant your sign is subjected to wet conditions. Now if you are ok with it naturally darkening and graying over time then you should be fine not maintaining it. 

**Given that this is hardwood and not Pine wood, this sign is much more durable than all of the low-quality pine wood signs available these days.
