This African Lion is resting on top of a rock overhang cooling off under a shade tree. The hot midday sun and a harsh life in on the African planes has made this resting spot very well deserved. I Decided to place the Past and present range maps overlapped on one another to grater depict the massive loss in habitat the lion has endured over the years. With the historical range depicted by the outline (witch almost covered all of Africa) and the present day range depicted by the filled in areas.
Engraved on a premium sheet of maple wood veneer at 500 Dpi.
