These poplar wheels are made out of a single solid piece of poplar. Similar to my 1/2 inch wheels in design, this design is completely flat on both sides, removing the center wheel hub. They feature a 1/4 inch wheel edging all the way around 8 spokes. After being lightly sanded there may be a few wood fibers that were not sanded completely off. I only lightly sand each wheel by hand to keep the cost for these as low as possible. If you would like a smoother sanded finish, I would recommend Oak or walnut wheels.
